Michael and Holger Seibert graduated from the same high school in a small town near Saarbrucken, Germany. For three years, they served as apprentices in a bakery owned by Seibert's father. When their apprenticeships were completed they had earned bachelor's degrees and decided to further their education by taking the proper business courses in order to earn their respective Master's degrees.

Great sandwich. Loved the ham and provolone. Warm potato salad was delicious. Also bought a loaf of bread. Forgot to order a dessert. I will remember next time, love their pastries. Lol.
I came in today and had the best experience ever. I ordered a cali club and a strawberry and peach smoothie and it was SO GOOD! But the best part was the workers Kimberly had the best laugh and really made my day!
What a cute, well-kept cafe. First time here and impressed with welcoming staff, well stocked bakery and dog friendly patio. Ordered lox bagel and ham, egg cheese croissant. Both items were generously stuffed, enough to impress husband! 5 star place. Will make sure to stop by again on our way to the bay area.
Pure Grain is a great place to meet friends and have coffee. The pastries are authentic German style. The cheesecake is just as I remember it as a child in Germany. The sandwiches are made just the way you want them and are great for lunch.. Due to Covid there is now lots more outside seating.
I LOVED the Lox on the cheese bagel! It was the perfect amount of tomatoes, onions, lox, and cream cheese. We also got the strawberry smoothie and ham, egg, and cheese sandwich on a sesame bagel. Everything was fresh and tasty. We will definitely be coming here again!
